About SculpteD™

An artist at heart, our founder Jacob Mashinsky began his career in the construction industry, enjoying a front-row seat to the influence of exacting craftsmanship on the atmosphere of a room. Jacob was particularly drawn to the quiet sophistication of millwork and opened his own moulding design studio in 2002.
Over two decades, our team collaborated with AD-featured architects and interior designers, crowning their magnificent designs with high-end finished carpentry and defining plasterwork.

After our studio was tapped for a plaster art commission, Jacob recognized the dramatic elevation of an atmosphere achieved with integrated sculpture.

Inspired by European palaces and world-renowned museums, Sculpted brings Jacob’s vision and expertise to a quite literal new level:
Art that stands out.
Art beyond frames.
Art you can feel.
Sculpted was born to elevate the most distinguished architectural spaces with this refined art form.

We look forward to elevating your next build,

What is “relief sculpture”?

Relief sculpture is a timeless art form found in palaces, museums and other works of distinguished architecture. Unlike freestanding sculpture, which exists as art alone, relief sculpture most often adorns walls and facades, elevating the architecture itself to art.

What is “bas relief” sculpture?

From the Italian “basso relievo,” meaning shallow imprint, bas relief is a  sculptural technique that creates artwork in wood, stone, or plaster with forms that project only slightly from a flat surface. This creates a subtle depth effect that can be felt to the touch, appreciated from many angles and infused with intricate detail.

Breathtaking to behold, bas relief (pronounced “bah relief”) is understated and may be used strategically in otherwise flat art, making it perfect for clients who seek subtlety.

What is “high relief” sculpture?

From the Italian “alto rilievo,” high relief features forms that project boldly from a flat surface, often with portions carved nearly in the round. The dramatic depth creates striking shadows, remarkable realism, and an immersive sense of movement that transforms walls into living works of art.

Powerful and expressive, high relief invites viewers to experience sculpture from multiple perspectives. Whether depicting flowing botanicals, graceful birds, or richly layered ornamentation, it creates a captivating three-dimensional presence that commands attention and elevates any interior.
